8th International Day of Yoga celebrated at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal

International Day of Yoga, 2022 with the theme “Yoga for Humanity was celebrated at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal in collaboration with District Administration, AYUSH, DYSSO, Government Degree College Ganderbal, CRPF, ITBP, NSS Unit-l and NSS Unit-ll.

On the occasion more than 1500 participants took part in the event which included employees and students from different departments and institutions of District Ganderbal.

Yoga emphasizes the values of mindfulness, moderation, discipline and perseverance. Yoga provides many mental and physical benefits like-“helps in developing a Better Body Image, helps an individual become a Heedful Consumer, develop Fitness &engender Cardiovascular Benefits”.

Yoga keeps away the ailments from our mind and body. By practicing several asanas and postures, strengthens the body and gives the feeling of well-being and healthiness. Yoga Instructor highlighted the benefits of yoga and conferred the practice of yoga on the regular basis and stabilize the mental hygiene as well as physical wellness and demonstrated as well as performed various Yoga Asanas with explanation to the participants during the celebration of International Day of Yoga.

Mr. Shyambir (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal in his address highlighted that Yoga brings peace, wellness, harmony, amity to our culture &society and enlightened the pros & cons of Yoga in daily life.

He thanked Dr. Hartej Singh, Principal Government College of Physical Education for organizing& celebrating the event with ferrous dedications, sprit for awareness and other departments and institutions of the District Ganderbal for their participation on the event.
